hello!

I am totally blessed to have lived in Cornwall, one of the most stunning, rugged, remote regions of the UK and this is where I have collected most of the sea glass I use in my jewellery. I now live on the South Devon coast with the sound of sea gulls on the roof of my workshop. The harbour and beaches are so close that (my dog) and I walk there every single day and it's here that I get most of my inspiration.

Walking on the beach clears my mind of everyday 'to-dos' and allows me the space to really see and feel the physical space around me.  the textures of the shore, of the stones, the cliffs, boats, water & the light all spark in me a need to create.

As a family, we are passionate about getting out and exploring the countryside as often as possible, and promoting the protection of the environment. This is reflected in my workshop practice and the ethical jewellery I design and produce, which incorporates ethically sourced gemstones, Fairtrade & recycled precious metals, & found objects - mostly sea glass!

The coast and all its magic continues to inform and inspire my lifestyle and my work.

A little bit of background

I trained at the University of Wales in three dimensional design  including metal work, jewellery and furniture design. I specialised principally in large scale metalwork (coming as I do from a long line of Cornish blacksmiths!) designing and making metal furniture, garden pieces and body sculpture and when I followed a blacksmith journeymanship, I worked on large scale steel structures including public sculptures, large gates for historic properties and metal furniture for private clients.

My traditional silversmithing skills have been developed through a range of courses, experimental workshop practice and sharing ideas with other craftspeople.

I started Glasswing in 2005 & since then I've been making silver, gold & sea glass jewellery, sending my work to customers all over the world.

I absolutely love what I do, and continue to develop my range all the time, very often adding new pieces influenced by customers' special commissions.
