James’s Romantic musical Proposal in Cornwall

As the weather turns decidedly chilly, I thought it was time to warm some heart cockles…..

…with a look back at James’s romantic seaside proposal to sea glass hunter Abbie at Port Winkle earlier in the year. A gorgeous summer’s evening after work and musician James unexpectedly suggested a trip to the coast.…in fact I’ll let the bride-to-be tell you in her own words……

I had no idea it was going to happen……

The sun was shining and James suggested a trip to search for sea glass (a love of mine) at our favourite beach in Portwrinkle. He packed some snacks, a blanket, grabbed me from work and we were off.

Now, James writes and records a lot of music and, as is pretty standard, asked me if I’d listen to a new song when we got there.

We settled ourselves in a secluded spot, I began my treasure hunt and James started the difficult process of getting the song to download on a beach with no 4G! I was totally oblivious to the lengths he was having to go to, climbing rocks and scaling cliffs in search for that elusive drop of internet.

Suddenly, at the end of the chorus, the line changed and he sang
‘Abbie, marry me!’

Upon his return, the headphones came out and I was reluctantly dragged away from my search.

I couldn’t be happier that I was!

The music started and the words were beautiful, it was a song we had dabbled with together for a while. Suddenly, at the end of the chorus, the line changed and he sang ‘Abbie, marry me!’ I burst into tears and sobbed the whole way through the speech he had written to the music.

As it played he got down on one knee, held out the ring which had been hidden behind me the whole time and still sobbing I said yes! The ring was utter perfection. It sang to all of my ethical beliefs as well as my love for sea glass. He even managed to find a piece that matched the colour of my eyes!

We are due to marry in January, in beautiful New Zealand and I truly cannot wait to be Mrs Archer!

For me, the ethical side of jewellery is so important and I am so pleased to be able to say I own one of your pieces.
Thank you so much again! Abbie.

Thank you so much to James and Abbie for sharing their wonderful photos and to Abbie for sending me the story of their deeply romantic summer’s evening! James did an amazing job making everything just perfect 🎼💍.  I don’t know about yours, but our hearts are definitely feeling warmed!

Of course last but not least, many many congratulations to you both ✨🍾💕

James chose the Morwenna sea glass engagement ring for Abbie, with mid-turquoise sea glass and recycled diamonds, set in yellow 14ct gold and with a hammered silver band.
